Weekend Wrap – June 7-9

Hey y’all!

I’ve decided to try something different and write some more personal blog posts, not particularly related to travel. We did go out of town this weekend, but it’s a full summary of what we did over the entire weekend! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Friday evening we went out to dinner with our friends at Yesdog Grill. It’s easily become one of my favorite places to go grab dinner, especially on the weekend. I am obsessed with their loaded Mac n cheese with bbq and bacon.

After dinner we walked down to Buff City Soap and smelled everything in the store! I finally got myself some shower oil I’d been eyeing, and it smells SO good. I’m allergic to most perfumes, detergents, and lotions… but their stuff is claimed to be all natural and free of harsh chemicals. So far, so good, I’ve had no reactions so that’s a HUGE plus! ๐Ÿ‘

Afterwards we made our way to Bliss Cupcake Cafe for some macaroons. ๐Ÿ˜‹ Sally got a dozen strawberry ones, and I got a couple birthday cake ones. They are SO dang good, best I’ve ever had for sure. John tried their cookie dough in a waffle cone and seemed to enjoy it, and we took Abby home a pup-cake.

We headed back to our house and just hung out the rest of the night, chilling and talking.

Saturday we got up and hung out with our friends Nathan and Sally a bit before they left (they had stayed the night). Then I made John and I some brunch which included biscuits, gravy, bacon, and eggs. After breakfast, we got ready and packed our over night bag then headed to Little Rock for a cookout.

On the way we stopped at The Bulldog Restaurant for some homemade milkshakes, and as usual they did not disappoint. We made our way south of Little Rock to Haskell, to see our friends the Clark’s new house. We enjoyed a night of good food and company, and even the weather as it cooled down.

Sunday morning we got up and said our goodbyes to Taylor and Kassie, then headed into downtown Little Rock. We had some brunch at a place called At The Corner. The food was good, although a little pricey for breakfast, and it was SUPER crowded (I’m quite sure because it was the weekend). I was a little disappointed we didn’t get to sit outside since it was so nice out, but overall a nice little place for brunch.

John had the Blueberry Lemon Crumble which also included fried chicken! I had the Breakfast Sampler, the #browns being my favorite part.

Following brunch, we walked by the Arkansas River to see how high it was. It’s definitely gone down quite a bit since last week, but still higher than average and they expect it to stay that way for awhile.

We made one more stop on the way home, Searcy, to see John’s sister and family. We took our nieces out for some ice cream at Chillz.ย He told his sister we were going to get them all hyped up on sugar and bring them back. ๐Ÿ˜‚ We enjoyed our time with them, and after spending a couple hours there we headed home.

Shoutout to my bestie Becca for letting Abby stay the night with her on Saturday night!

We had a great weekend together, and enjoyed getting to spend so much time with friends. We spotted a few things in Little Rock for us to do on our next trip there, and I can’t wait to share sometime!

Did you do anything interesting over the weekend? Or did you keep it chill?

Y’all have a good week! ๐Ÿค—
